What really matters to you?
July 8, 2009
We are all confronted at times in our lives with the option of leaving behind the very things we strive so hard to acquire. The material objects that mean so much to us at times and then we realize we never really needed them in the first place. We are fascinated by the ads and captivated by the idea of getting something ‘NEW’.
All of this never really satisfies what we think it is going to satisfy. We are left with an empty feeling that some how cannot be ‘fixed’ no matter how much stuff we buy.
George Carlin once did a wonderful routine about ’stuff’. We are always buying ’stuff’ and then taking the ’stuff’ on vacation only to get more ’stuff’. This is what I mean when I say we must think about leaving it all behind. Those ‘things’ don’t make us really happy!
Find a quiet place and rest your head in your hands and think about what really makes you happy. I am sure it won’t be the many things you bought in the last year that you thought were going to make you really happy. Go read a book and relax. That is something that will bring you more pleasure and it is really much cheaper.
Time Will Tell
June 4, 2009
Today I saw a headline on the cover of NY Daily News about the ‘ups and downs’ of the Obama and Michelle marriage. Why do they have to make us think about the relationship of our leader when we really should be reading about what he has planned for medical insurance and North Korean nuclear build up. The papers do nothing to improve the intelligence of the culture but merely write what sells!

What is going on? First a state that seems to be progressive in it’s politics and then it turns back the clock and takes back it’s law!

Jennifer Miller’s CRACKED ICE show at PS 122
May 5, 2009
Had a great time watching Jennifer Miller’s hysterical new extravaganza at PS 122. Was laughing and smiling ear to ear at the politcal jokes about Madoff and the crazy state of affairs the cast was in. A variety show with a plot. Go see it! One weekend left.

Finishing House play at Dixon Place
March 20, 2009
There is a great play going on now at Dixon Place. FINISIHING HOUSE written by Jack Hanley and brilliantly directed by Christopher Eaves.
The reviews are in and the play has received great feedback. An Orwellian/Crichton-esque cautionary tale set 70 years in the future, in an America where people’s future medical coasts determine whether they live or die.” See it or be sorry!

New Web Site
January 9, 2009
I have just noticed that a photographer by the name of Jim Moore has uploaded a new web site with many photographs from his career documenting the performing arts. Among these are photographs from the current film “Man on Wire” which has garnered many awards already. It will be a consideration for the Oscar’s best non fiction documentary. The photographs are great and should be checked out.

The World at Large
January 9, 2009
We are at the beginning of a new era. Billionaires are killing themselves and a multitude of companies are laying off thousands of people. Our new President Barack Obama has his hands full with trying to resolve what has been many years of greed and selfishness. IT is not going to be fixed too soon. Imagine having to clean up after a four year old has access to your house for 8 years with no adult supervision. That is what President elect Obama has to do. We are left with our hopes and beliefs that he can make some kind of difference in this countries direction. I can only assume it will turn out better than the other options we had. Let’s all wish for a miracle.
Come one…Come all…to the Party at SB Digital Gallery on 125 East 4th St. NYC
